Canada’s Hay River city evacuated resulting from wildfires

Wildfires in Canada’s northwest territories on Friday compelled the evacuation of the complete city of Hay River, a group of about 4,000 individuals on the Great Slave Lake, authorities mentioned.

According to Reuters, the federal government of the Northwest Territories ordered everybody on the town, together with important staff, to go to the Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport and await additional directions.

“Anyone who remains in Hay River is doing so at their own risk,” Reuters quoted the Northwest Territories authorities as saying in an alert posted at 15:23 native time on Friday. “There will be no emergency services or response available.”
