Turkey’s inside minister stated on Sunday that two “terrorists” carried out a bomb assault in entrance of the ministry buildings in Ankara, including one among them died within the explosion and the opposite was “neutralised” by authorities there.
Ali Yerlikaya, the minister, stated on social media platform X that two law enforcement officials have been barely injured within the incident at 9:30 a.m. (0630 GMT).
Turkish media earlier reported that an explosion was heard close to the parliament and ministerial buildings.
“Two terrorists came with a light commercial vehicle in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security of our Ministry of Internal Affairs and carried out a bomb attack,” Yerlikaya stated.
He added that one blew himself up and the opposite was “neutralised”, which often means was killed. “Our struggle will continue until the last terrorist is neutralised,” Yerlikaya wrote.
Ankara’s chief prosecutor launched an investigation into what it additionally referred to as a terrorist assault.
Authorities didn’t establish any particular militant group.
