Sharjah Sat 1 sends first sign from house

Sharjah’s first homegrown satellite tv for pc has made contact with floor management on the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology on the University of Sharjah (UoS).

The first communication sign was acquired on Tuesday at 10:02, as soon as Sharjah Sat 1 reached its orbit round Earth.

The miniature satellite tv for pc was launched on January 3 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that lifted off from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

It’s now positioned in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 550 km.

“The signal demonstrates the state of the satellite and its readiness to perform its mission after a successful deployment from the main spacecraft,” UoS mentioned in an announcement.

Sharjah Sat 1 is a part of a sequence of DiceSats that the University of Sharjah plans to launch in cooperation with a number of nationwide establishments and organisations.

It is provided with superior communication tools and sensors, and can perform numerous analysis and scientific duties.
