Rain forecast for UAE resulting from ‘oblique influence’ from Cyclone Tej

UAE climate bureau has confirmed that tropical Cyclone Tej has intensified over the Arabian Sea and can have an “indirect impact” on the nation.
Taking to their official social media channels, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast rain for the nation’s east and south.
Tej, which is presently Category 2 cyclone, is predicted to deepen into Category 3 within the subsequent 24 hours, with wind speeds of as much as 190 kmph.
Residents have been urged to comply with the NCM social media handles for normal updates, and to not unfold rumours.

Meanwhile, Cyclone Tej will immediately hit neighbouring Oman, with heavy rain and flash floods alerts issued for the nation.
Authorities have introduced the closure of faculties and places of work on October 23 and 24 in Dhofar Governorate and the Wilayat of Al Jazir within the Al Wusta Governorate.
