Dubai Police offers AED 26.6 million prisoner help over three years

The Humanitarian Care Section of Dubai Police has supported female and male inmates by offering them with monetary and in-kind help price over AED 26.6 million over the previous three years.

Captain Habib Al Zarouni, Head of the Humanitarian Care Section, stated that help had performed a major position in bettering the residing situations of inmates inside prisons, offering help to their households, and addressing their monetary challenges.

“These generous contributions encompass various aspects, such as assisting financially disadvantaged individuals with housing rent, covering educational expenses for their children, and providing essential living and medical supplies. Moreover, the aid includes monthly cash assistance for those with limited resources, medical assistance like wheelchairs and glasses, covering childbirth expenses for female inmates, issuing birth certificates for their children, providing necessary items for infants, Eid clothing, personal hygiene products, and various other forms of humanitarian assistance,” Al Zarouni stated.

The AED 26,663,703 whole help dispersed included AED 7,900,474 in journey tickets and associated bills, AED 808,100 by means of group initiatives, AED 1,086,200 by means of supporting programmes, AED 61,885 in medical help, AED 503,300 in household help, AED 313,657 in tuition charges and college provides, AED 2,059,000 to settle blood cash (Diyya), AED 13,779,490 to settle money owed of inmates, and AED 151,597 for inmates and their households’ requirements.

Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments at Dubai Police, reaffirmed that the Humanitarian Care Section continues to function successfully in supporting varied humanitarian circumstances involving inmates, feminine inmates and their households, underneath the steering of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and his assistant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri.

Brigadier Julfar highlighted that the initiatives intention to ensure full rights and enhance inmates’ high quality of life, in alignment with Dubai Police’s strategic instructions to reinforce safety, security, and group well-being. “Furthermore, these initiatives are in accordance with the state’s legislative system and policies and contribute to the promotion of a culture of human rights, regardless of racial or cultural backgrounds.”

He praised the efforts of charitable establishments and the humanitarian initiatives of philanthropists who actively have interaction in communication, hunt down humanitarian circumstances, and help. “These efforts vividly reflect the values deeply ingrained in Emirati society, characterized by solidarity, tolerance, generosity, and compassion. Additionally, effective and fruitful partnerships between the public and private sectors serve as a means of support for collective humanitarian and community initiatives,” he continued.
