UAE wins extra gold medals at jiu-jitsu championships

The UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Team continued their historic run on the JJIF World Championship YOUTH 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan, successful eight extra medals within the Under-18 divisions.

Hazza Alhassani and Ammar Alhammadi gained gold, taking the UAE’s general tally to 31 medals thus far – eight gold, seven silver, and 16 bronze.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and head of the National Team’s delegation, praised the nice efficiency of the Under-18 crew. “The achievements of our champions are the result of the great support and vision of our wise leadership, which contributed to the UAE’s global leadership in jiu-jitsu and producing talents capable of competing and excelling on the global stage,” he mentioned.

“We are proud of the love, responsibility, and unwavering desire of this generation to represent the country in various forums and to honour the nation in the biggest tournaments,” he added.

The gold medals come off the again of a profitable day within the women’ Under-16 and Under-18 divisions, which gained three gold medals earlier this week.

The UAE will probably be trying so as to add to its medal tally through the Under-21 class competitions on the occasion’s last day, happening Friday, August 25.
