McIlroy overcomes Reed, wins Dubai Desert Classic

World primary Rory McIlroy gained his third Dubai Desert Classic title on Monday after he shot a remaining spherical of 68 to complete at 19-under total, beating Patrick Reed by one stroke.

Reed completed with a commendable final-round rating of 65 which included an eagle on the par-five tenth gap however bogeyed the sixteenth to put up 18-under total.

In response, McIlroy stored his cool and birdied the final two holes – together with a wedge to fifteen toes and a downhill putt on the 18th – to have fun his first title on the DP World Tour since November 2019.

“It was a battle all day. Honestly, it has been a battle all week. I really feel like I haven’t had my best all week but I managed my game and played really smart,” McIlroy stated.

“I managed my recreation nicely, a lot of room for enhancements… Mentally, in the present day, it was most likely one of many hardest rounds I’ve ever needed to play as a result of it could have been very easy to let your feelings get in the way in which.
