Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) received Stage 2 of the inaugural version of the UAE Tour Women, forward of Charlotte Kool and Pfeiffer Georgi.
The 23-year-old Dutch rider is the brand new Red Jersey holder and leads the General Classification.
“I’m feeling great now! Today was a tough stage, very windy and with crosswinds, we went full gas from the start until the finish line. My teammates did a great job, we showed we are a strong team with a great lead out. Tomorrow I hope I can help Anna Shackley as much as possible,” Wiebes stated after the stage end.
Kool, the winner on Thursday, crossed the road second, with Team DSM teammate Georgi Pfeiffer third.
Starting at Al Dhafra Castle, the Al Marina Holding Stage lined 133 km by the Abu Dhabi desert. The first half went roughly from east to west earlier than the course turned north in the direction of the end in Al Mirfa.
