First-timer Brigid Kosgei set a brand new girls’s report on the fifth version of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, as greater than 25,000 runners from 168 totally different nationalities took to the streets of the UAE capital.
The Kenyan runner broke the earlier report by a minute, clocking 2:19:15. Her closest rival, Hawi Feysa Gejia, recorded 2:24:03 whereas Ethlemahu Sintayehu completed third at 2:25:36.
Meanwhile, Eritrean Amare Hailemicael Samson produced an excellent show, finishing the gorgeous metropolis course in 2:07:10 to seal a formidable victory, two minutes forward of his closest problem, Kenyan Leonard Barsoton (2:09:37), with compatriot Ilham Tanui Ozbilen marking his maiden Marathon look with a third-place end (2:10:16).
Ethiopian Halefom Kesay gained the 10km race with a time of 28:27 minutes, whereas his compatriot Zenashwork Yenw clocked 33:23 minutes.
The marathon and relay race mixed attracted 2,863 contributors, the 10km race welcomed 5,320 people, with 7,575 contributors taking over the 5km and 9,280 runners within the 2.5 km race.
