Lara Croft topped most iconic online game character ever

Lara Croft, star of the Tomb Raider online game sequence, has been named essentially the most iconic online game character of all time in a brand new ballot from BAFTA.

The ballot surveyed greater than 4,000 avid gamers from all over the world and was carried out to mark the twentieth BAFTA Game Awards, which happen on April 11.

Croft, who has been portrayed on the large display by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, topped the ballot forward of Mario from the eponymous Nintendo franchise, and murderer Agent 47 from the Hitman sequence.

Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, Link, from the Legend of Zelda video games, and Halo star Master Chief all made the highest 10.
