Alphabet’s Google is contemplating charging for premium options on its generative AI-powered search engine, the Financial Times newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The tech large is a wide range of choices, together with incorporating AI-powered search options to its premium subscription providers, which already present entry to its new Gemini AI assistant in Gmail and Docs, the report stated.
Alphabet’s shares dipped about 1 per cent in prolonged commerce.
The transfer would mark Google’s first time in placing any of its core merchandise behind a paywall, because it seeks to realize floor within the fast-moving AI house.
