UAE joins international push for near-zero emission buildings

The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), participated within the first Buildings and Climate Global Forum 2024, which was just lately held in Paris.

The discussion board introduced collectively ministers and officers chargeable for decarbonisation and resilience within the building and actual property sector, for the primary time for the reason that COP28 convention.

It was co-organised by France and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with the help of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction.

On the sidelines of the occasion, the UAE Ministry endorsed a joint ministerial declaration that defines the widespread rules and cooperation framework for international efforts to realize the aim of “Near-zero emission and resilient buildings by 2030”.

Eng. Nusaiba Al Marzouqi, Director of Studies and Research and Chief Innovation Officer at MoEI, participated within the high-level classes and highlighted the nation’s efforts in creating clear and measurable methodologies to scale back the carbon footprint within the constructing and building sector.

The discussion board adopted the annual assembly of the World Green Building Council Committee, during which the Ministry participated.

The assembly aimed to observe up on the implementation of the Council’s methods, actions and initiatives, the newest of which is Buildings Breakthrough, and to evaluate and approve the Buildings Global Status Report 2023.
