UAE pledges $100 million to local weather catastrophe fund
The UAE will contribute $100 million to local weather catastrophe fund preparations, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated on Thursday.
It’s an vital milestone in delivering for weak communities and constructing resilience for individuals struggling the devastating impacts of local weather change.
“We congratulate all parties on the historic adoption of this fund for climate impact response and announce the UAE commitment of $100 million as our contribution,” he stated on the X social media platform after COP28 formally authorized local weather catastrophe fund preparations.
