Construction work on two biking tracks in Dubai’s Al Khawaneej and Mushrif neighbourhoods is 90 per cent full, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced on Sunday.
The 7-km stretch will lengthen the prevailing biking tracks in each districts to 39 km.
The first observe runs from Quranic Garden on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street as much as the intersection with Al Khawaneej Street, whereas the second shall be from Mushrif Park, close to Crocodile Park, as much as intersection with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and crosses over to the intersection with Al Khawaneej Street.
“The plan includes increasing the total length of cycling tracks in Dubai from the existing 544 km to 819 km by 2026,” highlighted Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA.
It follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to remodel Dubai right into a bicycle-friendly metropolis.
