59 UAE corporations caught violating mid-day break rule

A complete of 59 corporations have been caught violating the UAE mid-day break rule, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) introduced on Tuesday, including that 130 employees have been concerned in these breaches.

The rule, which got here into impact this 12 months on June 15, bans work underneath direct daylight from 12:30 pm to three:00 pm.

In an announcement launched on Tuesday, the ministry counseled what it referred to as the “deep commitment of most establishments” to the mid-day break, which runs till September 15.

“We have conducted more than 67,000 inspection visits to establishments from June 15 to August 17, and over 28,000 guidance visits,” the ministry added. 

The summer time mid-day break is now in its nineteenth 12 months, with employers required to supply employees with umbrellas and cooling tools throughout their relaxation time, equivalent to followers, chilly consuming water, authorised hydrated salts and acceptable facilities.

Mohsen Al Nassi, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs on the Ministry, mentioned, “The Midday Break is part of a series of solid measures taken by MoHRE to protect workers’ rights and provide all conditions and components of occupational safety and health.”
